The Planck Telescope

In early 2000, ESA and the Danish National Space Center (DNSC, Copenhagen) signed an Agreement for the provision of the two reflectors that constitute the Planck Telescope. DSRI and ESA have together subcontracted the development of the Planck reflectors to Astrium GmbH (Friedrichshafen), who are manufacturing the reflectors using state-of-the-art carbon fibre technology.

The Danish National Space Center leads a Consortium of Danish research groups, which includes:

The responsibility for integrating the reflectors delivered by DNSC into a working telescope (i.e. with a structure) and into the Planck Payload Module rests with the Planck Project Team at ESA.
