Purchasing the Hipparcos and Tycho Catalogues

The final results from the ESA Hipparcos space astrometry mission (the Hipparcos and Tycho Catalogues, annexes, and documentation) were made available as from June 1997.

The catalogues are published by the ESA Publications Division, ESTEC, NL, on behalf of the FAST, NDAC, TDAC and INCA scientific teams.

The final mission results were made available as follows:

• SOLD OUT A 17 volume hard-bound printed catalogue, containing descriptions of the data reduction techniques, the Hipparcos Catalogue and related annexes, and including (as Volume 17) an ASCII version of the Hipparcos and Tycho Catalogues and annexes in a set of 6 CD-ROMs;
  
  
• SOLD OUT A subset of the above consisting of Volume 1 (Introduction and Guide to the Data) and Volume 17 (the ASCII CD-ROM set). Please note that this is a SUBSET of the 17-volume set;
  
  
• Limited number available Celestia 2000: a CD-ROM package containing the principal parts of the Hipparcos and Tycho Catalogues, annexes and complementary updated data (in binary, not ASCII format) along with extensive interrogation software. Celestia 2000 supports IBM PC and compatibles running under Windows 3.1, Windows 95, or Windows NT and it does NOT support direct operation on Mac machines, or on UNIX-based work stations (except through software emulating Windows on these machines).
