The printed catalogues comprise 16 volumes, with an additional volume 17 including 6 ASCII CD-ROMs, as follows:
Produced by:
The final products of the Hipparcos mission - the Hipparcos and
Tycho Catalogues - were released in June 1997. The catalogues were
constructed under the responsibility of large scientific teams
collaborating with ESA. The Consortia Leaders were Dr Lennart Lindegren
(Lund, Sweden: NDAC) and Professor Jean Kovalevsky (Grasse, France:
FAST) together responsible for the Hipparcos Catalogue; Professor Erik
Høg (Copenhagen, Denmark: TDAC) responsible for the Tycho
Catalogue; and Dr Catherine Turon (Meudon, France: INCA) responsible
for the Hipparcos Input Catalogue. See the Further Information page for members of
the Hipparcos Science Team, and for a full list of scientific
contributors to the mission.

the contents of the various volumes.
On-line data access facilities:
Several research tools have been developed to facilitate access to data
from the Hipparcos and Tycho Catalogues.
Reported Catalogue errors:
We are maintaining at this location a complete listing of all known

Miscellaneous Services:
Frequently asked questions: A list of Frequently Asked Questions is maintained on
this site.
Helpdesk: Much effort has gone into providing comprehensive user documentation. In particular, Volume 1 (Introduction and Guide to the Data) is intended to provide the user with all the necessary background information to enable them to use the catalogues immediately. A Hipparcos helpdesk is available (send the query to hipparcos@rssd.esa.int) in the event that even after consulting the documentation a user may still have difficulty using the Catalogues: we will try to advise.
Hipparcos Feedback: If you have comments, suggestions or criticisms about our web site let us know via the Feedback form.

The Hipparcos and Tycho Catalogue data are also available from the CDS [external link] , through relational database queries in Vizier [external link] , cross-identifications within SIMBAD, and data overlay in the ALADIN sky atlas. Note that the Tycho Epoch Photometry Annex B is also available from CDS. This annex is archived off-line, and is available for reasonable scientific queries. Requests for data from this annex should be sent to the CDS hot line (questions@simbad.u-strasbg.fr).
The full catalogues are also available from CDS (through the `Astronomers Bazaar' [external link] ) and mirror sites, ADC (Goddard) and NAO (Tokyo). A concise summary of the field contents is given via the CDS facility, and also when interrogating single objects using these pages: please note that these summaries should be supplemented by the detailed explanation of the contents given in Volume 1 of the printed catalogue.
Sky map display software for the Tycho Catalogue data is also provided by the MISAO Project [external link] .
